Star Trek
Star Trek is a movie I had very low expectations for when I popped it in the DVD Player. I have never been a big fan of Star Trek, nor do I want to be. However, Eliza wanted to see it, so we watched it. The beginning was very quick to introduce action and hook anyone with a love for beautiful SFX. I happen to be a person with that love, and so I was hooked. They did a great job getting the viewers to related and feel a relationship to the characters. This is, of course, a key element to a great movie. They also insured that it was unnecessary to know anything about the original series. A great technique to interest people, like myself, who never watched the series. This movie was full of eye candy, and kept the swearing to under 15 curse words!!! This is amazing in today's society. This story is a great Sci-Fi work and I look forward to the next installment. I would rate this as the best sci-fi movie since Transformers and give it a strong 4.7 out of 5.
